Bug or wishful thinking?

My marathon prediction is INSANELY optimistic. I only ran 1 marathon, barely sub 5h. AE has the data.

Slowest prediction is 3:42 today and 3:05 near the actual race. My HM PR is 1:55.

It doesn’t really bother me. But having information so wildly off makes it invisible…

A few things to check:

’Use secondary layer of training for digital twin’ → is that enabled in Account page? If yes it uses data of athletes similar to you in demographics which might skew the predictions.

Related to that: check that your weight, age, height in Account page are correct

Yes. It’s checked. I know I’m slightly slower than the median half runners. But this isn’t slightly faster. It’s impossibly faster. At least for me. Of course. If I’m compared against athletes much better than me then is it even useful for me?

Every metric is correct.

Related. Chat keeps speaking about my goal time which is the impossibly fast times we’ve been speaking about. The problem is that all it’s context is them written form someone who’s planning on running a race very different to mine… is there a way to tell it my real goal? Chat says there is. I couldn’t find it…

Thanks for the clarification. What about deactivating secondary layer for digital twin? In some situations it might automatically switch back on though, if otherwise your training plan request can’t be accommodated by your model alone. For example if the volume you’re requesting is much larger than what you have trained in the past.

There’s also the new/improved bulk fit file upload: Bulk .FIT file upload: import your full training history which I think you should give all the data you have. Maybe your own data data without secondary layer would then be enough.

Maybe what chat means is you could optimize a different metric than strictly marathon time. For example Endurance Power + Critical Power template if you’re using running power. Or Endurance Pace. That could also be an option.
