It would be great if on race/event day, there could be a ‘race day’ feature which provides an updated estimate of finishing time. It would be even better if it could create a pacing strategy (ala PacePro / mywindsock / etc.) factoring in elevation gain/loss, weather, etc.
When I imagine my ideal version of this it would include:
- Training completed (workouts + taper)
- course (gpx / past years event elevation profile)
- weather forecast (temperature / wind direction)
- Create a ‘pace pro’ data file I could load onto my watch (somehow) or a ‘workout w/ pace targets’ if pacepro is locked off from the garmin API.
For cycling, mywindsock.com has an API (costs beyond 40,000km are behind a ‘please ask’ button API Pricing – myWindsock).
For swimming .. I don’t do triathlon open-water swimming so how much someone can use a pacing strategy I have no idea.
