Chat about today's workout prior to and after run

On pretty much every run I want to chat to Gemini about my run. Basically to crunch stats on the actual run.

Then on workouts I might refine the session and discuss pacing prior. Then again after on the splits.

I think adding a way to talk about today’s activity would be great. Maybe it could be integrated with the daily check in. Or separate, but would have to cope with replans.

Note when I discuss runs completed I sometimes find the AI decides doesn’t use the actually data and hallucinates from the plan. Yesterday it kept telling me it was great I’d done a 45 minutes run at a certain pace (the plan) … when I’d run 60 minutes because I felt good.

Or sometimes doesn’t use the high fidelity data. So I’ve had to get it to remember to do this. It should be the default for analysis if possible please.

Thanks for the feedback! which chat model did you use? gemini 3/2.5 flash/pro? With or without extended thinking?

I do a similar thing for analysing my completed workouts, I’ve refined it over time to the format

"Can you provide a detailed analysis of today’s endurance run (1/5/26) Can you also include your thoughts on how the run went and whether it met its intended purpose, "

This seems to work in terms of making sure it analyses the correct workout.

I use the Gemini 3 Flash with extended thinking

Perhaps there could be a ‘Discuss’ button somewhere in analysis of the completed workout that would take you directly to the chat.

That’s an interesting idea, will look into it

I used 3.1 pro with extended thinking..

I asked AI to tell me it’s mistakes for debug…

"I would be glad to summarize the issues for the development team. Based on the rules and corrections we’ve established in your profile, here is a summary of the key mistakes I made previously:

**1. Data Hallucination and Guessing**

* **The Issue:** I generated or estimated specific metrics (such as DFA a1 and Heart Rate) when the actual data was missing or null.

* **The Fix:** I must strictly state when a metric is unavailable and absolutely never fabricate or guess data points.

**2. Failing to Use High-Resolution and Actual Activity Data**

* **The Issue:** I provided forward-looking training advice without first reviewing your actual recorded activities, and I relied on basic summary data rather than pulling the high-resolution, time-series data needed for accurate analysis.

* **The Fix:** I must always fetch and review your latest actual activities using the detailed, high-resolution tools before suggesting plan adjustments.

**3. Misunderstanding the Nuances of DFA a1 and AlphaHRV**

* **The Issue:** I failed to account for the technical differences between your live Garmin AlphaHRV app readings and AI Endurance’s post-run calculations. Specifically, I missed that the live app takes time to normalize at the start of a run, and that AI Endurance applies a pace multiplier/math to the mean DFA a1, causing the numbers to differ.

* **The Fix:** I must accurately interpret your HRV/DFA a1 data with these specific hardware and calculation constraints in mind."
