Can we have the option to set the target type for a particular sport such as pace, power or heart rate? For instance, I don’t have a power meter on my road bike but I use Wahoo iOS app to track my rides. The workouts generated by AI Endurance for bike rides are Power based so I have to mentally convert them to corresponding heart rate zones for following the workout.
Athletica.ai has this option in the settings for target output to a particular app. I could set pace and heart rate for my Coros runs and heart rate for Wahoo rides.
Thanks for the question. We have a little bit of a different approach to Athletica on this: you pick if you want to use running power or pace once and for all as a global setting.
Heart rate is considered a secondary metric/target type: since it lags and varies too much day to day it really only is useful for Endurance (maybe longer Tempo intervals are ok too, definitely the shorter the intervals, the less useful). I would rather go by RPE than heart rate for the higher intervals.
So you’ll always get the Endurance upper bound as a secondary target if the integration platform allows secondary targets.
The Digital Twin approach is fundamental to our approach of giving you a training plan that is build based on which training optimizes your performance the most and it only works with power for cycling unfortunately.
