Useful for bikes w/o power meters, free rides on the trainer, using treadmills, those without the GAP field on their watch [I check all those boxes].
I envision a checkbox in the Account section, like the ‘control intervals using lap button’, which would have bike/run workouts be exported as HR based ‘Endurance workouts target HR Y/N’ , or possibly a toggle in the workout ‘widget’, or maybe a setting in the plan generation.
Thanks, that’s already present for Endurance workouts for both running and cycling. HR is a secondary target as long as it’s either detected via DFA a1 or set manually. It’s in the description text and if the connecting platform allows (Garmin), also sent as a secondary target.
Deliberately only for Endurance workouts as GAP/Power is more reliable (no drift, delayed response) for any of the interval workouts Tempo, Threshold, VO2Max, Anaerobic. Long Tempo is a maybe but have decided against for now
Interesting, I have not been able to find how to switch/enable a datascreen to show the second target when doing the workout. It always shows pace/watts, even if the necessary sensor isn’t present.
If anyone knows why that might be I have a fenix 6. I googled it and found a support page that listed no fenixes, just edge and forerunners.
