Rowing workouts from Concept2 w/ Power using "Indoor Rowing" profile type appears to influence Cycling Critical Power detection

I completed a couple indoor rowing workouts instead of cycling, not using any tricks like rewriting the FIT file sport/sub_sport fields. After doing a couple of these workouts I received a notification indicating my critical power analysis had recommended updated new training zones for me to accept/not. I declined the zone update, but my intuition is there’s some cross-pollination with the rowing power and cycling power on the back-end.

That could only be the case if you have the rowing workouts recorded as cycling activities. You can check in the calendar: if your rowing workouts have a cycling icon in the background it’s recorded as a cycling activity. It should have ‘a man with one had raised’ symbolizing ‘Other’ activity.

It was recorded as an ‘other’ activity. Maybe it was some glitch? The estimated power jumped by something like 50w down.

I hadn’t recorded rowing as cycling by mistake in this case, and I double-checked it was an ‘other’ activity as displayed by AI Endurance. It must have been some other glitch or side-effect that was just coincidental.

yes must have been coincidental. I can confirm that cycling CP detection never looks at Other activities
