TP Virtual / Garmin Sync

TP Virtual workouts sync to Garmin correctly and show all laps/steps, but the sync appears to stop there. Activities originating from TP Virtual are not uploaded or synced to AI Endurance.

Expected behaviour
A TP Virtual workout that has synced to Garmin should subsequently sync to AI Endurance with the workout data, including laps/steps.

Actual behaviour
TP Virtual syncs to Garmin without any issues, with all laps/steps visible.
The activity does not then sync/upload to AI Endurance.
Normal rides recorded directly on my Garmin sync to AI Endurance without any problems.
The issue appears to be specific to sessions completed on TP Virtual.

I also record the session on my Garmin, but I don’t want to use the Garmin-recorded activity because that file does not contain the workout laps/steps.

Additional issue
I have tried manually uploading the TP Virtual .fit file to AI Endurance, but the upload fails.

Current workaround
My current workaround is to download the power and heart-rate data from Intervals.icu and use that instead.

It would be useful to understand whether TP Virtual-generated FIT files are currently unsupported, or whether there is an issue with the Garmin → AI Endurance sync when the original activity comes from TP Virtual.

Unfortunately Garmin doesn’t forward activities that are not recorded with a Garmin device to us. The workaround would be to connect Garmin to Intervals.icu or Strava and then connect the latter to AI Endurance.

I’ll look into why the manual fit file upload failed and if there’s anything we can improve there in terms of accepting certain (weird) fit formats.

Re manual fit upload: the bug you reported was fixed on July 29th so you should be able to upload the TPV fit file directly to AIE without going through Intervals.icu first

This is the connection from intervals.icu; there’s no setting to push activities to AI Endurance. I guess I’ll keep uploading manual. Thanks for looking into it. :+1:

pushing workouts from Intervals.icu to AI Endurance should be automatic when you have ‘Read’ Calendar enabled
